The Roboclette

This iconic robot is the headliner of Workshop 4.0. A true emblem of Valais genius, the Roboclette is the first machine in the world capable of scraping melted cheese. The idea was born of a joint venture between Emmanuel Pignat, Sylvain Calinon and Nicolas Fontaine, and the Roboclette was developed at the Idiap Research Institute. The Roboclette has seen its success grow thanks to the participation of Eddy Baillifard, Valais/Wallis Promotion and Workshop 4.0. This technological jewel illustrates the potential of robotics and artificial intelligence research in Valais, between tradition and innovation.
